Tuition

Built to be within reach.

Custom Image is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our aim is to keep training low- or no-cost for learners who qualify — funded through grants, workforce partnerships, and donor-funded seats, so cost isn’t what keeps someone out of a trade.

What it costs

Roughly $1,500 per unit.

Tuition is approximately $1,500 per unit. Every program is 13 units of supervised instruction — about 160 clock hours — so a full program runs around $19,500, with instruction, lab, materials, safety gear, and industry credentials all included. Most students don’t pay that out of pocket — see how students fund it below.

What it covers

One program, everything included.

Instruction & supervised lab
Online theory and hands-on lab hours on real equipment, taught by working tradespeople.
Materials & safety gear
Student project materials and the safety equipment you need to work in the shop.
Industry credentials
Credential fees — like OSHA-10 — built into the program, not billed on top.
Work-based learning
Placement support for your supervised hours at a partner shop or our studio.
How students fund it

Several paths — we’ll help you find yours.

Workforce funding
As programs are listed with workforce and eligible-training-provider systems, qualifying learners may use public workforce funds.
Donor-funded seats
Scholarships and sponsored seats cover learners who can’t pay out of pocket.
Federal student aid (in progress)
We’re building toward federal eligibility — the goal is Workforce Pell — so future students can access federal aid.
Published tuition is approximately $1,500 per unit — about $19,500 for a full 13-unit program — with final tuition confirmed per program and cohort. The funding you may qualify for depends on your situation, and the federal student-aid pathway is in development and not currently available.
