Learn the whole craft to a production standard — artwork and digitizing, hooping and stabilizers, multi-needle setup, multi-position and specialty stitching, finishing and QC — then prove it on a real job site. Upgraded to the funding-readiness floor with supervised lab and work-based learning.
Hours are documented by type so they can be reported to an eligible-training-provider list or a Workforce Pell certification — theory and demonstration, supervised lab, and employer-sited work-based learning.
124 instructional / lab hours + 36 supervised work-based-learning hours = ~160 total.
You leave with recognized, third-party credentials you keep and can carry to any employer — alongside the Custom Image program certificate.
Stacks toward the Custom Image Multi-Trade Production Certificate. Aligned occupations: Embroidery Machine Operator, Digitizer, Decorated Apparel Production Worker.
Work-based learning is what separates a workforce program from a class. Every student completes 36 supervised production hours at a partner shop or Custom Image's own supervised studio, under a written agreement that defines the site, supervisor, tasks, and safety orientation — with a mid-point and final evaluation on the competency scale.
Funders fund what they can verify. These are the same measures Workforce Pell, eligible-training-provider lists, and foundations use to judge a program — collected from cohort one.
| Metric | Target | How measured |
|---|---|---|
| Completion rate | ≥ 70% | Program records, per cohort |
| Credential attainment | ≥ 80% | Credential records of completers |
| Employment after exit | ≥ 70% | Exit survey + state wage match |
| Median earnings | Track | Wage match, annually |
| Employer satisfaction | Track | Employer survey, 90 / 180 days |
The structure above is the complete program plan. The graded instruments and the unit-by-unit competency detail — what every student must demonstrate to pass — open up inside the student app once you're enrolled in a cohort.
No experience needed. Online theory, hands-on lab, and a real job site.
